Mission Statement: The mission of Second Chance is to create opportunities for self-sufficiency by providing job readiness training, employment placement, and affordable housing and life skills for homeless and unemployed men, women and youth.

Impact Statement: Second Chance directly served over 1,000 low-income clients in the past year, most all with severe barriers to employment (including the homeless, ex-offenders, ex-substance abusers, ex-gang-affiliated youth, and homeless veterans). These clients come to us entirely without a health care safety net, or any real health care at all. In order to gain access to stable health care and fulfill basic needs long term they need a job, and a place to live. Second Chance provides temporary housing for clients in need and a Job Readiness Training Program (with 492 program graduates the past year gaining employment!), followed by job placement and support services, to allow them to find the right job and retain it. The vital supports Second Chance provides for these clients include mental health services, group and individual counseling, health care referrals and services, and food and clothing assistance.
