San Diego community steps up to provide storm damage relief
We hope you were spared damage and harm from Monday’s significant storm that pummeled San Diego County. However, if you or your neighbors (individuals and business) are seeking emergency funding or other assistance, our team has assembled the following information, which may be of some help.
Funding:
- City of San Diego Response includes a Business Emergency Response & Resilience Grant.
- The San Diego Flood Response Fund through San Diego Foundation will go toward nonprofits helping San Diegans impacted by the flood
- San Diego Black Chamber of Commerce will provide grant funding and technical assistance to businesses affected by the recent flooding in District 4, which encompasses most of southeast San Diego, including Encanto, Mountain View, Skyline and Lincoln Park.
Shelters and Basic Supples:
- Balboa Activity Center
- Jackie Robinson Family YMCA for showers and basic supplies
- Lincoln High School (American Red Cross Southern CA)

- Environmental Services Department: Report flooding or clogged City storm drains on Get It Done app or call 619-527-7500

How You Can Help:
- Saturday, 1/27: Urban Collaborative Project Community Clean Up of Encanto and Imperial Avenue
- Multicultural Health Foundation is organizing volunteers to assist with Disaster Relief & General Community Needs in Districts 4, 8, and 9. Volunteer Sign up Form.
- 1/27 9-11am: District 4 is hosting a cleanup dumpster at Jacobs Center, 404 Euclid Avenue
- Donate to the San Diego Flood Response Fund through San Diego Foundation
