“Alliance Healthcare Foundation has pledged $1 million in unrestricted funds to 16 organizations through its Mission Support Grants program. To be considered in the application process, organizations were asked to demonstrate past and planned innovations, collaboration with other organizations and each organization’s unique role in improving health and wellness across the region.
The four organizations receiving $100,000 each were ElderHelp of San Diego; Environmental Health Coalition; Horn of Africa Community in North America; and Somali Family Service of San Diego. The remaining 12 received $30,000. Alliance works to advance health and wellness for the most vulnerable — the poor, working poor, children and homeless in San Diego and Imperial counties.”
