Join us on Wednesday, November 1, for a special preview of the San Diego Hunger Coalition’s soon-to-be released report Hunger Free Kids: Opportunities by District to End Child Hunger. This report is the first of its kind to analyze our region’s implementation of federally-funded child nutrition programs by both school districts and community-based organizations.

According to the Hunger Coalition’s latest analysis, more than 1 in 5 children in San Diego County don’t always have enough to eat. We have the solutions but are only using a fraction of the resources available to us. Imagine providing more than 15 million additional meals annually to food insecure children in our region…without raising money for food!

Instead, by increasing children’s access to school breakfast, afterschool supper, and summer meals, we could bring an estimated additional $30 million each year to our community, supplementing food service budgets for schools and youth-serving organizations countywide.
