How can Covered California™ serve you?
Covered California is a marketplace which implements the federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act in California, allowing you to easily compare quality, affordable healthcare options before selecting one that fits your needs and your budget.
Don’t underestimate the importance of health coverage! As more and more Americans of all ages and backgrounds are finding out, having a reliable, affordable healthcare plan can allow you to pursue your dreams and your passions while minimizing stress and worry. No one plans to get sick and no one plans to get injured, but accidents happen, and you need to be prepared when or if they do!
In addition to this safety net, healthcare coverage protects you from outrageous medical costs, and it affords you free preventative care, such as vaccinations, screenings, etc (h/t Healthcare.gov).
Susan Shain, 28, from Ketchikan, Alaska, said:
“It’s so easy to go to the marketplace and sign up. To me, having health insurance is like having freedom. It means I can work the jobs I want to work, it means I can start my own business. I don’t have to feel tied to some job I don’t love just because of the benefits.”
Covered California can offer you similar freedoms and relief!
Since its inception in 2014, over 1.3 million Californians have utilized this initiative, and enrollment is open now through Feb. 15 for 2015.
Whether you want to renew your past coverage or start a new enrollment process, visit the Covered California application page here. If you’ve already submitted an application last year, your information will still be saved, but if you’re a first-time applicant, simply fill out the forms and follow the on-screen prompts.
With Covered California, healthcare coverage is a real possibility for all Californians. This program is designed to ensure fair and equal access to quality healthcare for all, and it aims to accomplish this mission by offering low-cost, reliable plans.
If you are unhappy with your current healthcare coverage or if you just want to explore your options, give Covered California a try. You’ll be able to find what’s best for you and your family, and you’ll feel safer, happier, and more relaxed as you move forward in 2015.
If you have any questions, 2-1-1 San Diego is currently doing outreach and enrollment in the San Diego County region, and Somali Family Service is also a local expert and service provider that will be able to help you with anything you need regarding the plan.
I hope you take advantage of this opportunity and move into 2015 ready to achieve your goals without the worry of being uninsured hanging overhead. It’s never been easier to sign up; just visit the website and start the process!
