The Community Information Exchange (CIE) is a collaborative initiative of key stakeholders in the social and health services arena, including 211 San Diego, Beacon Community Program, Father Joe’s Villages, Monger Company, Regional Task Force on the Homeless, Rural/Metro of San Diego, San Diego Fire Rescue Department and others. This project is designed to strengthen healthcare and social services delivery to the underserved of San Diego by establishing a collaborative electronic exchange of social service and clinical information resulting in improved access, quality, and delivery of service, care and costs. AHF is funding the first phase of this project to strengthen the governance structure, develop the leadership and to broaden and deepen the collaborations’ reach amongst social service providers. “The Board of Trustees of AHF is excited to be amongst the first in the nation to support the inclusion of social service care information in the overall picture of Health Information Exchange currently being developed in this region and others,” said Robert B. McCray, Chairman of the AHF Board.
