Mission Statement: 2-1-1 San Diego’s mission is to help people by connecting them efficiently to the service delivery system, and by providing vital trend information for community planning.

Advancing Health and Wellness: The World Health Organization defines “health” as a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. Clients that call 2-1-1 tend to have multiple barriers to their well-being. In addition to our comprehensive Healthcare Navigation Program that assists clients by navigating them through the complex healthcare system, we also offer referrals to an array of other services that help improve the well-being of our clients. 2-1-1 strategically places itself in various angles in all sectors to create multiple touch points to direct clients to call 2-1-1. People calling for food or utility assistance often have other needs that we can help address, supporting them more holistically. By dialing 2-1-1, clients are linked to a live, professional Client Service Representative (CSR) who assesses callers’ needs and then matches them to the best and closest resource in their community.

Description: 2-1-1 San Diego is the trusted community information hub for our region connecting people with resources and services 24-hours a day in more than 200 languages. Whereas everyone in need of emergency assistance knows to call 9-1-1, 2-1-1 San Diego serves as San Diego’s primary connection for all other community needs and support services, including disaster situations, relieving the burden on 9-1-1 operators. We understand the needs of the community and have become a trusted data provider to help local government, business and nonprofit leaders make informed funding and planning decisions.
