Alliance Healthcare Foundation just announced the open application period for its 2018 Mission Support Grants. This initiative awards approximately $1 million annually to San Diego and Imperial County nonprofits that advance health and wellness for those most in need.

Alliance Healthcare Foundation (AHF), a San Diego-based nonprofit organization that works to advance health and wellness for the poor and underserved in San Diego and Imperial Counties is now accepting applications for its 2018 round of Mission Support Grants.

Since 2011, AHF has awarded approximately $1 million annually to nonprofits working in San Diego and Imperial Counties through the Mission Support Grants program.

“AHF developed the Mission Support Grants program to broadly help organizations working locally to advance the health and wellness of our most vulnerable populations,” said AHF Board Chair Elizabeth Dreicer. “Through these core operating support grants, we seek out organizations and aim to support them in continuing their work to improve the health and wellness of our region.”

The application period opened October 4, 2017 and will conclude November 3, 2017. All applications received will then be evaluated, including a community review, with grantee recipients being selected at the February AHF Board of Trustees meeting.

“It’s always interesting and encouraging to review the applications and to see the work of those who make our community a healthier, happier place,” said AHF Executive Director Nancy Sasaki. “Year by year, we’ve generated increased and more diverse participation and funded many wonderful organizations with these important core operating support grants. We are very much looking forward to seeing the 2018 applications.”

Previous winners of Mission Support Grants include organizations that are intimately involved in serving the underserved—people under 250% of the federal poverty level, un/under-insured populations, children, and homeless—in San Diego and Imperial Counties.

This year’s grantees will be announced in February 2018.
