San Diego Pride: It’s More Than a Month
Imagine a society where all individuals, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity, are treated with respect, acceptance, and equality. A world with truly integrated LGBTQIA+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual, and other sexual orientations, and gender identities) individuals. To make this kind of world a reality requires ongoing efforts from individuals, communities, governments, and institutions. And, while progress has been made in many areas, there is still much work to be done.
In San Diego, there are many resources and advocacy efforts working toward achieving an integrated society with LGBTQIA+. We’ve had a long relationship with North County LGBTQ Resource Center which offers whole person support and referral services, advocacy, and awareness training. Here is one of their many programs along with some other San Diego Pride activities around town.

The i2 Experience | AHF + Nex Cubed Partnership Story
We recently collaborated with AHF Innovation Initiative (i2) partner Nex Cubed to create a video describing our partnership and the i2 experience from the perspectives of the two 2022 i2 awardees: Project New Village and Urban Restoration Counseling Center. We also recruited two of our i2 Resident Leaders to add their impressions of the i2 experience. Watch video here.
Within philanthropy, the AHF Innovation Initiative (i2) $1 Million Milestone-based Challenge Grant is unique in its purpose, process, and potential. Read full story.
