San Diego, CA June 17, 2020. The 3rd annual 2020 CIE Summit, August 12-14, 2020 is now virtual and accepting registrations.

2-1-1 San Diego has announced its virtual Community Information Exchange Summit scheduled for August 12-14, 2020. Previously scheduled for March and postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the 2-1-1 team has re-imagined the Summit. Complete with plenaries and breakout sessions focused on innovative care coordination to address social determinants of health needs across vulnerable populations, the Summit is a multi-sector collaboration to advance equity.

As a continuing Summit Sponsor, we at Alliance are excited to support and attend the virtual version of the CIE Summit, and hope you’ll join us.

The 2-1-1 San Diego CIE Summit brings together key 2-1-1, social, health, non-profit, research data, philanthropy, education, technology and government thought leaders from across the nation to engage in workshops and interactive discussions about bridging health and social service sectors to build strong and thriving communities. Plenaries and breakout sessions for 2-1-1 San Diego’s 3rd Annual CIE Summit will focus on care coordination innovations to address social determinants of health needs (housing, nutrition, employment, etc.) across populations, including families, women, children, low-income, veterans, etc. with the overall goal of advancing equity for all.

This year’s Summit Tracks include:

  • Examples from the Field – applications for addressing specific, real world problems
  • Theories and Concepts – to inform planning design and cross-sector coordination
  • Policy and Research – relevant to systems change and population health

Be sure to join Alliance for the plenary: Sustainability – Integrating and Financing Social Determinants of Health, Thursday, August 13 from 1:00-3:00pm. In this plenary, speakers will highlight cutting edge research and policy issues impacting cross sector collaboration, data sharing and financing. Topics include:

  • Data sharing innovations that enhance and generate value to organizations,
  • Recommendations for healthcare delivery systems
  • Payment reform models and theories supporting systems change.

Len Nichols - photoDr. Len Nichols – Director of the Center for Health Policy Research and Ethics (CHPRE) and a Professor of Health Policy at George Mason University. He has been intimately involved in health reform debates, policy development, and communication with the media and policy makers for 20+ years, after he was Senior Advisor for Health Policy at the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) in the Clinton Administration.

 

 

Laura Gottlieb-photoDr. Laura Gottlieb – Associate Professor of Family and Community Medicine at UCSF. A former National Health Services Scholar and safety-net family physician with fellowship training in social determinants of health, Dr. Gottlieb now serves as Principal Investigator on multiple quantitative and qualitative projects examining the integration of social and medical care services.

 

 

ryan howell-photoRyan Howells – Principal Leavitt Partners, based out of the Washington, D.C. office. His work with clients is focused on health insurance market reforms, disruptive distribution channels that have occurred through the emergence of public and private exchanges, and how the implementation of technology can improve the triple aim of reducing costs, increasing quality, and improving outcomes.

Sarah Lyman – Executive Director, Alliance Healthcare Foundation located in San Diego. She is passionate about finding solutions to complex social issues and creating sustainable positive impact. Prior to joining Alliance, Sarah was instrumental in designing and building the Empire Health Foundation, in Washington state, from its inception into a thriving agent for community change, leveraging and managing resources over 18x its annual endowed grant making. And, she’s just getting started at Alliance.
