Alliance Healthcare Foundation Announces New Board Trustee Stan Lewis
He is the former Director of HIV-AIDS Services for one of San Diego’s largest non-profit organizations. Stan also served as Chief of Staff to former San Diego City Council member, Valerie Stallings, and currently serves on the LGBT Senior Advisory Board on housing and other needs. He is also serving his second term as a Trustee of the San Diego Museum of Photographic Arts (MOPA).
Stan is deeply committed to being a visible presence in the community. “To be an effective advocate, you have to get to know the populations you’re working with. I want to be out there, and bring what I see and learn back to my work with Alliance,” Stan said.
Stan completed his BA in Accounting and Economics from Howard University in Washington DC, and received his MBA in International Business from Bernard Baruch College, City University of New York. A long time community activist, and advocate for marriage equality, Mr. Lewis is also a former appointee of the Governor of California to the California State Board of Chiropractic Examiners.
“Alliance has done great work in the past and I believe we can do great work in the future,” Stan said. Alliance is thankful for the support Stan has provided over the years and looks forward to his continued leadership in this new role.
