diverse resident leaders clapping for a speakerAlliance Healthcare Foundation (AHF) is seeking Resident Leaders (RL) who are interested in social innovation and deeply care about transforming our communities through systems-change and out-of-the-box thinking. We believe that we must intentionally seek and elevate community voice when making operational and programmatic decisions.

Resident Leaders help further our mission of advancing health and wellness for everyone in the region, especially those who are historically marginalized, by supporting AHF programs, including the Innovation Initiative (i2) $1 Million Challenge Grant, which seeks sustainable market-based social innovations and/or systems-change transformations aimed at closing equity gaps in health and wellbeing within our nonprofit community.

Who may qualify?

  • Someone who lives in San Diego County in an area with the highest health disparity per the Healthy Places Index and the Justice 40 Initiative.
  • Are committed to serving communities that have been marginalized by representing through your lived experience
  • Has a combination of experience, including innovation, entrepreneurship, community advocacy, health and wellness, social justice, social determinants of health, community leadership, grant funding and nonprofit work.
  • Able to evaluate written and live presentations, and participate in committee discussions in English.

Resident Leader responsibilities:

  • Review programmatic work, including the i2 draft application and provide timely feedback within due dates.
  • Provide feedback with AHF staff on i2 outreach strategy for potential applicants.
  • Participate as an advisor on the evaluation panel that consists of AHF board, committee members, and staff at all three phases of the Innovation Initiative (i2) journey.
  • Evaluate and provide feedback on the i2 application, process, and materials.
  • Contribute your perspective informed by your unique lived-experience and make a commitment to support the betterment of all communities with diverse identities across San Diego County.

Length of service & time commitment:

September 2024 to November 2025 (about 100 hours)

Compensation:

Resident Leaders will be compensated $600 per i2 meeting plus an additional $1,500 stipend for preparation time outside of meetings.
