Recently, I was honored to announce a $200,000 grant to the Design Team for 25 Cities, presented by Funders Together to End Homelessness.
The 25 Cities project is currently developing a coordinated assessment and housing placement system, and it’s being piloted in downtown San Diego. If everything goes as expected, the organization has every intention to expand this county-wide, something that would immensely benefit our homeless.
After the initial celebration and launch ceremony, I participated in the press conference with Michael McConnell, small business owner and a member of the Leadership Team and Funders Together to End Homelessness San Diego, Teresa Grenawalt, 25 Cities design team, and Jeff Gehring San Diego VA Medical Center Director. These individuals shared their plans to further the 25 Cities initiative, and it was inspiring to hear their plans and to become a part of their mission.
