Social Justice Warrior Dolores Huerta to keynote Catalyst event
Catalyst of San Diego and Imperial Counties has opened registration for its annual conference: Funding our Future: Examining Wealth, Power and Community. This year’s keynote speaker is Dolores Huerta who is widely recognized for her lifelong commitment to social justice, labor rights, and equality. Her advocacy efforts for the rights of farmworkers, immigrants, and marginalized communities have led to groundbreaking changes in workers’ rights, education, and civil rights. At the October 24 conference, we look forward to the important conversations with our funding partners about the role of philanthropy in shifting the dynamics of wealth and power.
Challenges and Opportunities for Sustainable Impact
San Diego Cause Conference, September 14
At this year’s Cause Conference, AHF’s Executive Director Sarah Lyman will be joining a panel of San Diego foundation executives to discuss how San Diego’s funding community works together for greater sustainable impact.
Cause San Diego is a social impact hub that sparks connection between for-profit businesses and the most urgent issues in our region. It is about accelerating social change by helping businesses develop and implement social impact strategies while also improving collaboration between public and private sector organizations.
Model for Enhanced Community Care
2-1-1 San Diego and San Diego Health Connect honored at National Civitas annual conference
2-1-1 San Diego (AHF 2011 i2 grantee), steward of the region’s Community Information Exchange (CIE), and San Diego Health Connect (SDHC), the region’s Health Information Exchange (HIE), have been honored with the Partnership Promoter Award while attending the National 2023 Civitas Networks for Health Annual Conference in National Harbor, Maryland. The Partnership Promoters Award, an annual tribute awarded to two deserving organizations, highlights the significance of partnerships that transcend traditional boundaries and create a synergy that elevates community care.
“This award reflects the unwavering commitment of both 2-1-1 San Diego and San Diego Health Connect in fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation in building a stronger and healthier region,” said William York, President & CEO of 2-1-1 San Diego. “Together, we are reshaping the health and social care landscape, enhancing patient experiences, and demonstrating the transformative power of partnerships.”
